Old House 14
I once read in a Donald Barthelme novel that, "there are no straight lines in nature," and while I don't know if that's true or not (either did the protagonist), I can say for sure that there aren't any straight utility poles. A scene like this can present a challenge to a photographer working without a tripod as there isn't a plumb or level line in sight.
This old ranch house sits along the main road in Quay, New Mexico. The red building behind the house is an old railroad car, which were often repurposed for farm use. A vintage freight car fan would find Eastern New Mexico an interesting place to poke around. Today, ranchers use shipping containers, which is pretty much the same thing, though not nearly as picturesque, at least, not yet.
