Tony Hillerman

Tony Hillerman was born in Sacred Heart, Oklahoma to August Alfred Hillerman, a farmer and shopkeeper, and his wife, Lucy Grove. ... He grew up in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma, attending elementary and high school with Potawatomie children.
