Floyd first got my attention with its name. It occurred to me that maybe the place was named after General Floyd CSA. "Who would name a town after one of the
worst generals of the Civil War?," I wondered. The answer turns out to be nobody, the place is named for an early settler. Nevertheless, I had to visit the place. If you are looking for a nice Sunday Drive on the plains, you couldn't do much better than the road to Floyd.
