Lesbia, New Mexico

Lesbia was another on a long list of American towns founded on the principals of optimism, free land, and a highfalutin name. Not much remains of the original village, but this decrepit building, possibly the old Baptist church, still stands as a testament to a lot of hard work. It's easy to think of these (mostly) deserted places as failed efforts, but many of them were viable communities for decades.
